The sudden boom of business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the country gave rise to Sagility to start their operations in Bohol, expanding its footprint in the Philippines.
Dako ning ikahatag og job opportunities sa atong mga kaigsuonang Bol-anon and more or less, muabot ug 10,000 ka (mga) trabaho.
The historic event was marked by a blessing, turnover, and ribbon-cutting ceremony held on September 17 at the Innercore Building at the old airport site. A milestone for the Bohol Business Park (BBP) envisioned as Bohol’s ‘I.T. Park,’ the event showcased the Provincial Government of Bohol’s (PGBh) commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. This initiative is a priority of Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, as outlined in his Strategic Governance Roadmap while sustaining Bohol’s designation as the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark Island and Regenerative Province. “Dako ning ikahatag og job opportunities sa atong mga kaigsuonang Bol-anon and more or less, muabot ug 10,000 ka (mga) trabaho,” Aumentado said in a quick interview. He also expressed gratitude to the City Government of Tagbilaran and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for their support in repurposing the old tarmac through this initiative. Records indicate that PGBh owns 6.5 hectares of the old airport lot, while the rest is owned by the national government through CAAP. Joining Aumentado at the ceremony were Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte, Chief of Staff Atty. Filipina Asoy-Piollo, and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap.
Also present were officials from Sagility Philippines, Innercore Construction and Realty Development Corporation, and Cudama Construction. To meet Sagility’s business standards, the newly renovated building, formerly the old airport’s terminal, was developed by Innercore Construction and Realty Development Corporation and Cudama Construction. According to Kenn Obis, one of the owners of Innercore, the building will serve as both a training center and a facility that is ready for production operations. The main production building, Site 2, is expected to open next year, developed by the same team. Obis further revealed that Site 3 is under development, with plans for a lifestyle commercial hub that will feature international brands not yet available in the province. After breaking ground in May, Sagility Philippines will have a soft launch in the first week of October, creating over 300 jobs in its BPO operations. With its presence in the developing island, the US-based, tech-enabled healthcare business process management company, is set to drive Bohol’s socio-economic growth, infrastructure development, and innovation while creating opportunities for other businesses. Before the turnover ceremony, Sagility Philippines was featured in various job and employment fairs organized by the PGBh through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office-Public Employment Service Office.
